Erect rhizomatous perennial; stems 15-80 cm, crisped-hairy with an admixture of straight glandular hairs above, glabrous below, usually with 2 prominent raised lines. Leaves elliptic to lanceolate-elliptic, 3-8 x 1,5-3 cm, margin finely serrate, glabrous though usually with hairy veins, base cuneate, narrowed into a 0,5-15 mm petiole. Inflorescence predominantly glandular- to entirely eglandular-hairy. Flowers whitish, later with rose-pink streaks; petals 4-8 mm; stigma entire. Capsule 4-7 cm; seeds oblong-obovoid, c. 1 mm, papillose. FI. 7-8. Stream sides, etc., to 2200 m.
