Plant 6-20 cm with short erect rhizome, base of petiole sheathed by old leaf bases; petiole half the length of frond; sterile blade with 4-6 deltoid or lunulate, entire or crenate pinnae without midrib; fertile blade slightly exceeding sterile, 1-2 pinnate, each pinna bearing up to 20 subsessile sporangia. Spores ripe 7. Grassy slopes, acid turf with Rhododendron caucasicum, 2000-2200 m.
