Plant 5-7 cm with short erect rhizome. Roots producing plants by adventitious buds. Leaves 1-3, sterile blade linear-Ianceolate, up to 7 x 40 mm, veins forming elongate areolae without included free veins. Fertile usually twice the length of sterile blade at maturity; sporangia in 6-10 pairs, apex of spike acuminate and sterile. Spores ripe 3. In open associations with Pinus brutia, Arbutus & Erica, 30-350 m.
