Stem 20 cm, erect, slender. Stem light green, lower part densely leafy, upper part ± zigzagging. Leaves 5-8, light to dark green, clasping stem at base; middle leaves rounded to broadly ovate-Ianceolate, acuminate, spreading, slightly ridged, with distinctly wavy margins. Spike 10-20 cm, lax and elongated, many-flowered, flowers - almost 1-sided, Flowers medium-sized, rarely opening fully, nodding. Perianth campanulate, segments close together. Lateral sepals broadly- to ovate-lanceolate, pointed, olive green; dorsal sepal curved over forwards. Petals shortly ovate-lanceolate, light green, shorter than sepals, usually tinged with red at margins. Labellum 2-lobed. Hypochile cup-shaped, darkly shining inside. Epichile cordate, toothed at margins, with two rugose protuberances at base, reddish to yellowish, with whitish to yellowish margins. Rostellum present and fully functional in freshly opened flowers. Fl. 5-7. Dry grassland, open pinewoods, phrygana, oak scrub, waste land, scree slopes, hazel plantations; on calcareous, rarely on basic soils. 300-1500 m. 
?Endemic. Probably also in Azerbaijan.
