Plant to 80 cm. Leaves oblong-lanceolate. Spike to 40 cm, lax, many-flowered. Bracts linear-lanceolate, exceeding ovary. Flowers greenish-brown, ± flushed dingy violet. Sepals ovate.,oblong, 12-14 mm. Petals slightly shorter, narrowly lanceolate. Labellum with whitish base, without spots or only faintly spotted; middle lobe to 40 x 3-3.5 mm, shortly divided at apex; lateral lobes triangular-falcate, 2.5 mm, rarely nearly absent. Spur pyramidal-conical, 3-4 mm. Fl. 5-7. Dry, open Quercus forest, macchie, coniferous forest, on limestone, mainly in montane region, 200-1250 m.
