Stem to 8 cm, with 0-1 pairs of erect branches. Internodes shorter than leaves, or cauline to 2 x length of leaves and lower floral to 2 x length of bracts. First flower at 3rd-6th node. Leaves to 8 mm, oblong to suborbicular-ovate, glabrous or puberulous, rarely glandular-hairy, proximal margins of teeth strongly curved or obtusely angled. Lower bracts ovate to suborbicular, with 3-4 pairs of teeth; teeth ± as long as broad, distal ± incurved, upper with teeth scarcely deeper. Corolla 5 mm. Capsule 4-5·5 mm, shorter or longer than calyx, 11-2 x as long as broad. Fl. 8-9. Subalpine and alpine pastures or stream hunks, 1700-2700 m.
Endemic. Euxine element.
