Stem 15-37 cm. Bracts equalling or shorter than flowers. Calyx halves undivided or bidentate, teeth very narrow, long acuminate, with a stout nerve, long glandular-pilose, usually equalling corolla tube. Corolla 15-18 mm, cylindrical, erecto-patent at first, later curved forward, yellow, reddish, violet-brown or violet towards lip, slightly glandular-pilose or subglabrous.; dorsal line nearly straight from a curved base, upper lip curved downwards, apex erect; lobes glabrous. Stamens inserted 2-3.5 mm above corolla base, filaments pilose near base, anthers shortly apiculate. Style scarcely glandular-pilose, stigma yellow or violet. Alt. 1600-2600 m.
