Slender perennial, with sterile basal shoots. Stems several, 25-80 cm. Median leaves linear, 6-13 x 0,4-1 cm, glabrous, often falcate. Raceme usually lax, only 6-30-flowered, lower flowers usually distant, axis glandular-pubescent . Bracts lanceolate, glabrous or ciliate, lower often acuminate and exceeding flowers. Calyx lobes 6-8 mm, narrowly oblong, obtuse or subacute, ± mucronate, glandular-pubescent, often with short white hairs on margin. Corolla 25-30 mm; tube furry fawn outside; purplish-veined inside, ventricose; lower lobe whitish, 10-14 mm, oblong-obovate , subequal to tube. Capsule 10-14 mm . Fl. 5-8. Open Pinus or Quercus forest, rocky or shaly slopes, steppe, often on southern exposures in the rain shadow, s.I.-1500 m.
