Glabrous herb with erect reddish stem 20-50 cm . Leaves sessile, lanceolate, obtuse, weakly serrate, lowermost to 45 x 13 mm, prominently veined beneath, upper smaller and slightly narrower. Flowers arising in upper leafaxiIs, pedicels 8-12 mm. Calyx divided nearly to base, lobes linear, 8 mm. Corolla 15-18 mm, white with yellow markings on throat within upper lip, sometimes tinged with mauve. Upper staminode minute, 2 lateral below stamens, long and slender. Fl. 6-10. Streamsides, irrigation channels, marshy ground, 40-1400 m.
