Slender glaucescent annual, 15-40 cm. Leaves of sterile shoots opposite or whorled, elliptic. Leaves of flowering stems linear, 10-30 x 0,5-1 mm, lowest pair sub-opposite, remainder alternate. Racemes dense. Bracts linear, ± as long as 3-5 mm pedicels. Calyx lobes lanceolate-acuminate, c. 4 mm, glabrous. Corolla deep violet, 8-12 mm, upper lip erect and deeply bifid; spur subulate, 8-10 mm, straight. Capsule depressed-globose, 2,5-3 mm, overtopped by calyx. Seeds winged, 0,8-1 mm; disc ± tuberculate, wing deeply fimbriate. Fl. 3-5. Macchie, rocky slopes, dunes, fields, s.I.-1200 m.
