Slender glaucous annual, 7-30 cm. Leaves of sterile shoots linear, whorled, those of flowering shoots whorled below, alternate above, 10-20 x 1-2 mm. Raceme dense, few-flowered. Bracts linear, longer than 1-2 mm pedicels. Calyx lobes linear-spathulate, 2-3 mm, glandular-pubescent like the pedicels. Corolla bright yellow, 3-4·5 mm, tube and upper lip violet-veined; spur 2-3 mm, slenderly conical, straight. Capsule globose, 4-5 mm, slightly longer than calyx. Seeds discoid, 1,5-1,8 mm; disc tuberculate, wing entire. Fl. 4-6. Open macchie, rocky and stony places, fallow fields, s.l.-1750 m.
