Perennial. Stems erect, 50-70 cm, glandular-pubescent at least above, simple or laxly branched, arising from creeping horizontal roots. Leaves dense, linear-oblong to linear, 30-50 x 2,5-7 mm, 1-nerved, green. Racemes elongate, dense. Bracts lanceolate, often reflexed and c. as long as pedicel. Pedicels 2-8 mm, glandular-pubescent. Calyx lobes ovate-oblong, 2-3 mm, subacute, ± glabrous. Corolla yellow with orange palate, 15-20 mm; spur 9-14 mm, narrowly conical, straight. Capsule globose-oblong, 6-8 mm. Seeds winged, 2-2·5 mm; disc tuberculate. Fl. 6-8. Disturbed meadows, river banks etc., s.I.-1600 m.
