Differs from V. bozakmanii mainly by being less tall and more strongly branched ; leaves 3-8 x 3-6 mm; fruiting pedicels 3-7 mm, 1-1,5 x bracts, not or only slightly hooked upwards below fruit, with glandular hairs 5-7-celled ; corolla 3-4 mm diam.; capsule 2-2,5 x 4-4,5 mm; seeds 20-40, 0,8-1,2x0,5-0·8 mm, not sticky when wet. 2n= 14. Fl. 3-5. Moist fields and fallows, ditches, damp paths, c. s.l-200 m.
