Perennial; stems branched and slightly woody at base; thin, repent, hirsute. Vegetative shoots decumbent, 5-20 cm, flowering stems ascending, 3-10 cm. Leaves sessile or subsessile, subcoriaceous, linear, oblong or elliptic, 6-12 x 1-3 mm, often curved, ± secund, margin entire or indistinctly crenulate , strongly revolute, midrib depressed above, prominent beneath; upper surface glabrous , distinctly hispid to hirsute with 0,2-0,9 mm rigid hairs near margin, lower surface glabrous or with hispid midrib. Racemes 1-3, subglobose, 7-15-flowered, often with some sterile bracts at base, densely glandular-pubescent; peduncle 5-15 mm, often thicker than main axis. Lower bracts elliptic to oblanceolate, upper oblong, 2-6 mm, obtuse. Pedicels 3-8 mm in flower, 6-10 mm in fruit, 1-3 x bracts, ± patent . Calyx 3-4 mm in flower, 4-5 mm in fruit, lobes 4 or 5, ovate to linear-lanceolate, subobtuse. Corolla deep blue with white centre, 10-14 mm diam. Style 3-4 mm. Capsule 3-4 x 4-5 mm, glandular pubescent, base rounded, apex slightly emarginate. Seeds incompletely known . Fl. 5-8. Subalpine meadows, rocky slopes, scree, calcifuge , 2000-3400 m.
