Very densely white-tomentose perennial forming dense cushions 2-12 cm diam. and 2-6 cm high; stems branched, woody at base. Leaves linear, oblong or oblanceolate, 4-9 x 1,5-4 mm, sessile, obtuse. Inflorescences 1-2, pseudoterminal, 6-10-flowered; bracts 2-5 mm; peduncle 2-8 mm. Calyx 3-7 mm, lobes 4. Corolla deep blue, drying pinkish, 10-14 mm diam. Style 4-5 mm. Capsule c. 3-4 x 3-4 mm, orbicular, slightly emarginate, tomentose. Seeds unknown. Fl. 6-7. Alpine rocks and scree, 2080-3350 m.
