Repent, decumbent-ascending perennial herb. Stems 15-70 cm long, branched, sparsely villous. Leaves with long petiole ; lamina broadly ovate, 15-30 x 15-30 mm, sparsely pubescent , truncate to subcordate at base, margin regularly crenate-serrate with 5-8 conspicuous teeth per side. Racemes 3-6, usually alternate, with long peduncle , 2-8-flowered, glandular-pubescent. Pedicels 4-8 mm, 2-4 x length of bracts. Calyx lobes 4, obovate to subrhombic. Corolla pale violet to whitish with darker veins, 6-10 mm diam. Style 3.5-5 mm. Capsule 4-6 x 7-8 mm, exceeding calyx, slightly cordate at base, with truncate, slightly emarginate apex, strongly compressed, glandular-ciliate, otherwise glabrous. Seeds 4-12, suborbicular, 2-2.3 x 1.5-2 mm, yellow, flat, smooth. Fl. 5-6. Damp, shady deciduous forests.
