Perennial. Stems 10-50 cm; branched, repent, hirsute. Leaves shortly petiolate , lamina oblong- to broad-elliptic, 15-45 x 8-25 mm, serrate, ± densely hirsute. Racemes 1-4, narrow, erect, spike-like, dense, 15-35-flowered, densely glandular-pubescent, peduncle 20-35 mm. Pedicels 0.5-2 mm, 1-1 1/2 x length of bracts. Calyx 2-3.5 mm, lobes 4, linear to oblong. Corolla pale pinkish-lilac to lilac-blue, 6-8 mm diam. Style 2.5-4 mm. Capsule triangular-obcordate, 3-5 x 4-5 mm, exceeding calyx, glandular-pubescent, truncate with slight or obtuse-angled emargination, base cuneate to ± rounded. Seeds 10-20, elliptic to suborbicular, 0.8-1.2 x 0.7-0.9 mm, flat, smooth. Fl. 4-8. Pinus, Abies and deciduous forests, grassland, roadsides, 900-1800 m.
