Perennial. Stems 10-30 cm, erect or ascending, arising from a woody rootstock, scapose or with 2-4 small alternate leaves, Leaves mostly basal, rosulate, c. 10 x 23 cm, oblong-spathulate, thick, irregularly crenate to lobed, subsessile,-glabrous or pilose -on-margin. Inflorescence to c. 40-f1owered, secund; densely glandularpilose. Bracts c. 8 mm, narrowly oblong. Pedicels 1-8 mm. Calyx 4-6,5 mm. Corolla violet-blue , 9-20 mm; tube ± straight, 13-17 mm; upper lip bifid; lowerlip shortly trilobed. Capsule 3-4 mm, oblong, glandularpilose. 2n= 18. Fl. 5-6. Crevices of limestone rocks, 200-1200 m.
