Rather densely pulvinate glaucous shrublet. Leaves plano-triquetrous, 15-25 x c. 1 mm, glabrous, margins scabridulous. Scapes short, equalling leaves. Spikes laxly or densely imbricate. Spikelets 4-10, 11-13 mm, Bracts subequal, glabrous, distinctly keeled; outer bract triangular-lanceolate, 6-8 mm, cuspidate with a rather long mucro; inner bracts oblong-triangular, obtuse, cuspidate, with broad hyaline margins. Calyx 5-lobed, veins of limb usually glabrous, reddish, tube hairy, limb white. Petals bright pink. Fl. 6-8. Mountain slopes, 1700-2300 m.
