Densely pulvinate, pale-green shrublet, branches short and densely leafy. Leaves linear-triquetrous, 18-24 x c.1.5 mm, pubescent , margins scabrid. Scapes usually lacking, rarely equalling or longer than leaves. Spikes densely distichous or imbricate. Spikelets 6-8, 12-14 mm. Bracts pubescent; outer bract herbaceous, triangular, 6-8 mm, with narrow hyaline margin, shortly cuspidate; inner bracts oblong-lanceolate, distinctly keeled, longer than outer bract, with broad hyaline margin, cuspidate. Calyx limb white, obscurely 10-lobed, veins pilose, excurrent. Petals bright pink. Fl. 6-9. Calcareous rocks, arid steppe, Pinus forest, 830-3450 m.
