Raceme 5-20 cm, suberect or nodding, with 6-12 spikelets, Spikelets subsessile, cylindrical, 15-35 mm, narrowly oblong or lanceolate, glabrous, pubescent or pilose. Glumes unequal, acute, upper longer than lower, muticous. Florets 8-16. Lemmas lanceolate, acuminate, 7-11-veined; awn 7-13 mm, straight or ± flexuous. Anthers 3.5-4 mm. Fl. 6-9.
