Perennial. Stems erect, branched, 30-100 cm, glabrous or sparsely hairy. Ochreae brown, pilose. Leaves lanceolate-acuminate, pilose above and beneath. Inflorescence a broad panicle. Flowers creamy-white to yellowish. Perianth segments longer than the tube, the whole perianth 2,5-4,5 mm. Nut glossy, light brown, slightly exserted from the perianth. Fl. 6-8. Slopes andscrees, 1900-3000 m.
W., C. & S. Europe, S. Russia, Caucasia, Siberia, N. Iran, Turkestan, Sinai. Euro-Sib. element.
