Prostrate or weakly ascending annual herbs, the stems slender, not more than 3 mm thick, smooth or a little striate. Leaves elliptic, c. 15 x 4 mm, longer than the bracts. Inflorescences often on short, condensed, lateral branches, or on short, ± dense-flowered, terminal spikes. Perianth about 2 mm. Nuts slightly exserted from the perianth, glossy. Fl. 10.
