Perennial, 15-60 cm. Stem angled and ± sulcate, crisped-pubescent below. Median cauline leaves with short, very broadly vaginate petioles, adpressed-pubescent, palmatisect into numerous, narrowly linear laciniae. Raceme densely tomentose, oblong, very dense, 2-3 cm. broad; lower bracts multisect like the upper stem leaves, upper lanceolate-acuminate, membranous; bracteoles lanceolate-acuminate. Flowers 15-20 mm, densely pubescent; sepals scarcely spreading, smoky blue or dirty white; petals light blue; spur a little longer than the sepals, attenuated, acute, strongly incurved. Carpels glandular-pubescent. FI. 7-8. Rocky igneous and limestone slopes, 1600-2500 m.
