Ssp bulbifera: Buğdaycık; Ssp calthifolius: Çöpsalebi; Ssp ficariiformis: Arpacıksalebi

Plant 10-20 cm. Leaves ovate-orbicular to ovate-deltoid, subentire to weakly repandate-dentate, deeply cordate at base, thick. Sepals ± membranous. Petals 10-20 mm. Carpels pubescent. Fl. 3-4.
A polymorphic, cytologically complex species which needs further study in Turkey. The following three subspecies are provisionally recognised, but the identity of the plants we have referred to subsp. calthifolius and subsp. bulbifera requires confirmation.
1. Bulbils present in the axils of cauline leaves. Plant 10-20 cm; leaf base usually with an open sinus; petals 10-15 mm.... subsp. bulbifera
1. Bulbils absent in the leaf axils
2. Stems at flowering time very short, leaves crowded into a basal rosette; plant 5-10 cm; leaf base usually with an open sinus; petals 10-15 mm........ subsp. calthifolius
2. Stems at flowering time elongated, leaves not crowded into a basal rosette; plant 10-20 cm; leaf base usually with a ± closed sinus; petals 15-20 mm .......subsp. ficariiformis
