Perennial, 5-15 cm. Root tubers slenderly fusiform. Scapes 1-flowered. Leaves all radical, shortly petioled, broadly elliptical, bullate, dentate, hirsute. Sepals spreading. Petals 5-8, 8-11 mm. Achenes 1-1,5 mm, inflated, obtuse, glabrous, 3-4 x uncinate beak. Fl. 10. Dry places.
Widely distributed but local in the Mediterranean area east to Cyprus. Medit. element. This is the only autumn-flowering buttercup in Turkey.
