Glabrescent perennial, 5-15. Rhizome glabrous, oblique; collar fibrous. Stems 1-2-flowered, ascending. Radical leaves trisect, the segments deeply divided into oblong-lanceolate laciniae. Sepals spreading. Petals 8-12 mm. Achenes obliquely semicircular, subcompressed, 2 mm, margin obtuse; beak circinate, less than 0,5 mm. Fl. 5-8. Limestone screes and rocky slopes, 1600-2800 m.
Endemic , the type variety of the species being confined to the Lebanon.
