Glabrous herb. Stems erect, strict, up to 100 cm. Leaves ± oblong, the two lateral divisions smaller than the middle division. Ultimate segments of the lower leaves narrowly oblong, those of the upper leaves very narrow, linear. Inflorescence dense, the branches erect, the flowers aggregated together in fascicles. Achenes ellipsoid, not compressed, with 8-10 ribs. Fl. 6-7. Ditches, marshyplaces, s.l.-1400 m.
C. Europe, Balkans, C. & S. Russia. Centred in the Euro.-Siberian region.
