Papillose-hirsute biennial herb, with a simple, densely foliated erect stem up to 80 cm. Leaves pinnatisect, with the terminal lobe much exceeding the rest and oblanceolate. Sepals persistent, twisted in fruit. Petals palmately 5-7-lobed, the segments narrowly linear or very narrowly oblanceolate. Capsules erect, glabrous, ovoid, constricted just below the acute, slightly swollen, teeth. Seeds 1.2-1.3 mm, smooth. Fl. 6-7.
