Intricate shrub, prostrate or up to 1 m, branches alternate, young spines puberulent, dark brown. Leaf lamina small, ovate to spathulate, 8-15 x 3,6 mm, remotely but distinctly and regularly crenate-serrulate, , greyish green, concolourous, pellucid-puberulent on both surfaces, at least when young; petiole 1-2 mm. Fruiting pedicels 2-3 mm. Disc glabrous or with puberulous margins. Fruit c. 5mm diam., black when ripe. Seed with shortly bifid groove. Fl. spring. Rocky limestone slopes and rock crevices, 100-2000 m.
