Tree, 5-10 mm. Leaves narrowly ovate, crenate-serrate, glabrous, firm, very shortly petioled. Cymes condensed. Sepals puberulent. Drupe dark red or finally blackish, c. 2 cm long.
Cultivated for its edible fruits in W. & S. Anatolia, and rarely in mild localities elsewhere.
