Pulvinate-caespitose canescent perennial with thick rootstocks and very short flowering stems, 1-3 cm. Leaves digitate; leaflets 5, rarely 3, obovate, 4-10 x 2-7 mm, cuneate at base, incised-serrate or -crenate at apex, sericeous-villous and with some sessile glands. Flowers terminal, solitary or paired. Epicalyx segments oblong or elliptic, shorter than sepals which are ovate, 3,5-4 mm, acute. Petals yellow, broadly obovate 6-7,5 mm, usually emarginate. Style subterminal, filiform, conical at base, longer than achene. Fl. 7-8. Cliffs, rock crevices, 2000-3650 m.
