Slender, divaricately branched annual, 10-25 cm. Stems erect, ± quadrangular and retrorsely scabrid on angles towards base, subterete and smooth upwards, bifurcating from base. Leaves in whorls of 6-10, lowest obovate-spathulate, c. 3 x 1 mm, middle and upper 7-12 x 0.3-0.5 mm, subsetiform, mucronate, with hyaline apex to 0.25 mm, margin strongly revolute, antrorsely scabrid. Inflorescence amply corymbiform, with subcapitate cymes, 15-25-flowered, peduncles filiform, bifurcating, glabrous. Bracts c. 2/3 as long as cymes, subulate, with hyaline apex. Pedicels conferted, c. 0.75-1.5 mm, with antrorsely curved hairs. Corolla yellowish-white, rotate-cup-shaped , c. 1.5-2 mm diam.; lobes ovate, mucronate , hairy outside. Mericarps with dense, curved hairs. Fl. 6. Rocky openings, macchie, nr s.l.
