Stem 10-25 cm, shortly pubescent with crisped white hairsor almost glabrous. Leaves simple, obovate or lanceolate-obovate, distinctly long-attenuate and pseudopetiolate below, glabrous or very sparingly crisped-hairy. Inflorescence small, compact. Sepals deltoid-lanceolate, dark blackish green when dry, white-pubescent. Petals ovate, bright yellow, 6-9 mm. Filaments narrow, gradually attenuate from base to apex. Young ovary segments 4-ovulate, glabrous to densely pubescent with a blunt terminal tubercle. Ripe capsule 5 x 4 mm, with plane or convex glands, apical tubercle rather sharp. Seeds transversely rugose, interstices wider than ridges. FI. 5-6. Dry rocky or shaley slopes, 100-1900 m.
