Biennial, 40-80 cm, indumentum persistent, densely white-pannose, eglandular. Stem robust, terete, with numerous branches. Basal leaves broadly obovate to suborbicular, 6-25 x 3-7 cm, obscurely crenulate to entire, petiole winged, to 3 cm; cauline smaller, cuneately decurrent. Inflorescence lax, branched, forming narrow or broad panicle, with clusters of 2-7 flowers. Bracts ovate or broadly ovate, acuminate, lower decurrent. Pedicels absent or to 1 mm; bracteoles lanceolate. Calyx 6-7 mm, lobes lanceolate, acuminate. Corolla yellow, 10-15 mm diam., densely pellucid-glandular, stellate-tomentose outside. Stamens 5, anthers reniform, filaments with whitish-yellow wool up to anthers. Capsule oblong-ovate to cylindrical, 5 x 3 mm, densely tomentose. Fl. 6-7. Pinus forest, limestone scree, 1000-1800 m.
