Perennial, 20-60 cm, woody at base, densely white-tomentose throughout, with sparse glandular hairs above; Stem terete, branched above. Basal leaves small, broadly ovate, obovate or orbicular, 1,5-4 x 1-3 cm, crenulate, petiole 0,5-2 cm; cauline ovate to broadly elliptic, sessile. Inflorescence lax, simple or with few branches below. Bracts linear-lanceolate to linear, 2-10 mm, acute to acuminate. Pedicels 1mm, ebracteolate. Calyx 4-8 mm, lobes lanceolate-linear, acute. Corolla yellow, c. 15 mm diam., without pellucid glands, stellate-tomentose outside. Stamens 5, anthers reniform, filaments with purple-violet wool, 2 anterior glabrous near apex. Capsule ovate to elliptic, 4-5 x 2-3 mm, densely stellate-tomentose. Fl. 5-8. Pinus brutia forest, macchie, 120-840 m.
