Biennial, 30-80 cm, adpressed stellate-tomentose, soon glabrescent. Stem slender or ± robust, terete, finely striate, much branched. Basal leaves lanceolate- oblong to linear-lanceolate, 7-35 x 2,5-10 cm, funcinate, terminal segment triangular-ovate, obtuse to acutish, ± lobed, 1,5-3 cm, not much larger than the 6-12-pairs of oblong to triangular-lanceolate, incised- or dentate-lobed lateral segments, petiole 1-5 cm; cauline small, lower incised, upper dentate. Inflorescence loose, branched, forming ovate or lanceolate panicle, with clusters of 1-3 flowers. Bracts small, broadly ovate, acuminate. Pedicels 2-6 mm. Calyx 2-2,5 mm, glabrescent, lobes orbicular-spathulate, obtuse or mucronulate. Corolla yellow, 16-22 mm diam., with numerous pellucid glands, glabrous outside. Stamens 5, anthers reniform, filaments with whitish-yellow wool, 2 anterior glabrous above. Capsule ovate-globose, 3·5-5 x 3-4 mm, stellate-tomentose, soon glabrescent. Fl. 4-6. Pinus forest, Quercus scrub, fallow fields, s.l.-1340 m.
