Perennial, woody at base, 40-120 cm, very densely white-tomentose throughout, eglandular. Stem ascending-erect or pendulous, terete, simple or with few short branches. Basal leaves broadly ovate to elliptic, 4-10 x 3-5,5 cm, entire or rarely indistinctly crenulate, petiole 2-5 cm; cauline mostly congested below, ovate to lanceolate, acutish to acuminate, auriculate or cordate and semi-amplexicaul at base. Inflorescence usually simple, sometimes with few short branches below, clusters with 4-7 flowers, loosely arranged. Bracts triangular-ovate, acute. Pedicels indistinct; bracteoles lanceolate. Calyx 3,5-5 mm; lobes oblong-lanceolate, acute. Corolla yellow, 20-25 mm diam., with pellucid glands, sparsely stellate-tomentose outside. Stamens 5, anthers reniform, filaments with whitish-yellow wool up to anthers, 2 anterior anthers with glabrous connective. Capsule ovate to oblong, 4-6 x 2,5-3 mm, stellate-tomentose, glabrescent. Fl. 4-7. Rock crevices, s.l.-300 m.
