Biennial, 20-50 cm, finely adpressed greyish-tomentose below, soon glabrescent above. Stem slender or somewhat robust, terete, branched above middle. Basal leaves rarely entire, suborbicular, 2-5 cm, usually lyrate-pinnatifid, 5-10 x 4-7,5 cm, with broadly ovate or suborbicular, sinuate-repand or subentire terminal segment 4-7,5 x 3-8 cm and 1-2 pairs of nearly entire lateral segments 0,5-2 cm; cauline mostly undivided, upper small, lanceolate. Inflorescence loose, branched, forming ovate-pyramidal panicle, with clusters of 1-4 flowers. Bracts small, ovate-lanceolate, acute. Pedicels to 7 mm. Calyx 2,5-3,5 mm, lobes oblong- to lanceolate-linear, somewhat obtuse or acutish. Corolla yellow, 20-25 mm diam., with pellucid glands, glabrous outside. Stamens 5, anthers reniform, filaments with whitish-yellow wool, 2 anterior glabrous above. Capsule conical- or oblong-cylindrical, 5-8 x 3-3,5 mm, stellate-tomentose, glabrescent. Fl. 5. Bushy slopes, 600-900 m.
