Perennial herbs with short internodes, 4-12 cm. Stipules linear-oblong, with a few distinct teeth or segments at least at the base, 5-18 mm. Leaves ovate or elliptic, cuneate, the margins crenate. Pedicels with bracteoles well above the middle. Flowers large, yellow or violet, petals broad and overlapping, the lowermost 18-24 mm. Fl. 5-8. Grassland and open slopes, 2000-2600 m.
