Perennial. Flowering stems 60-100 cm, ± slender;± erect; leafy to the ± middle. Leaf margins scabrid. Inflorescence usually simple, rarely with 1-2 branches, laxly flowered. Bracts 5-7 mm, shortly deltoid, shortly cuspidate. Fruiting pedicels 10-12 mm, ±erect, jointed below the middle, longer than bracts. Perianth segments 25-30 mm, yellow. Capsule globose, 7-8 mm, smooth. Fl. 6-7. Macchie, forest clearings, 150-350 m.
