Annual, 8-30 cm, main axis ending in umbel at 1-8 cm, usually over-topped by erecto-patent, lateral branches 15-35 cm, rarely prostrate or ascending. Leaves 2-10 cm long, 1,5-5 mm broad, ± linear. Umbels very short-peduncled. Rays 5-6, very unequal, 0-40 mm. Bracts 3, very unequal, 4-25 mm. Bracteoles normally 4, at flowering 3,5-8 mm, narrowly ovate to lanceolate, then growing to 10-20 mm, hardening and enclosing the fruits, herbaceous. Petals light yellow, 0,4-0,5 mm. Anthers 0,4-0,5 mm. Stylopodium 0,9-1,1 mm broad, styles 0,4-0,5 mm. Fruit c. 2,5 mm, smooth, ridges and oil ducts inconspicuous. FI. 5-6. Dry open habitats, stream banks, secondarily as a segetal weed, 600-1200 m.
