Differs from H. helix in the shoot and inflorescence hairs being 0,4-0,75 mm wide, often 15-25-rayed and joined to halfway; and in its larger leaves 12-25  cm long, those on the sterile shoots at most only slightly lobed. Fruit black. Climbing over trees, on banks, etc., s.l.-1460 m.
