Annual. Stems divaricately branched, 3-12 cm, retrorsely pilose. Leaves oblong-obovate, pilose. Inflorescence lax to congested. Bracts herbaceous. Sepals linear-lanceolate, 5-7 mm, without scarious margins, pilose with long, rather stiff hairs which are longer than the sepals are broad. Petals shorter than the sepals, glabrous. Capsule not or little exserted from the sepals, opening apparently by pores, the teeth minute. Fl. 4-5. Scrub, banks, dry places, s.l.-350 m.
