Like M. meyeri, but inflorescence usually of rather dense, often remote monochasial clusters; bracts occasionally exceeding clusters; pedicels all much shorter than the sepals; at least some flowers spreading or deflexed; calyx ± truncate at the base, becoming markedly so in fruit; outer sepals 5-7 mm, straight-sided, acute; petals 1,5-2,5 mm, elliptic, about ½ as long as outer sepals; seeds echinate on the dorsal ridge. Fl. 5-7. Rocky stony places, s.l.-1350 m.
