Acaulous dwarf perennial, with a thick woody branched rootstock. Leaves with 5-7 pairs of leaflets, 2,5-3 cm long, including petiole shorter or longer than rachis. Leaflets elliptic, 5-6 x 3 mm, with a dense sericeous indumentum on both surfaces. Scapes erect, 3-5 cm high. Inflorescence lax, 5-8-flowered, elongating slightly in fruit. Calyx c. 7 mm, teeth shorter than tube, with spreading hairs. Corolla violet; standard 15 mm long; wings 14 mm; keel c. 12 mm including a 1 mm long beak. Legume 25-30mm xc. 4 mm including a c. 7mm stipe, pendant, pilose. Fl. And fr. 4-5. Limestone slopes.
