Corm tunic with coarse reticulate fibres. Stem 20-30 cm. Leaves 3-4; lamina with equidistant parallel veins, 2-3 mm broad, ± glaucous. Spike 3-4-flowered, lax, secund. Perianth lilac to violet-purple or with yellow-edged lower segments; tube ± straight, posterior 7-13 mm, anterior 9-15 mm; segments obovate- or elliptic-spathulate, upper median 18-24 x 6-12 mm, upper lateral 15-23 x 4.5-10 mm, lower lateral 14-18 x 4.5-7 mm, lower median 12-18 x 4.5-7 mm. Anthers 6-9 mm, filaments 13-14 mm. Style to 3 cm. Capsule depressed-ellipsoid; seeds unwinged but with a small flap-like appendage. Fl. 6-7. Stony debris of dolomitic limestone in Pinus brutia forest, volcanic rocks, 1000-1560 m.
